UFC on FOX 8 officially drew 8,967 fans with a live gate of $700,081 this past Saturday in Seattle. The Washington State Department of Licensing announced the final numbers on Tuesday.
While the attendance numbers showed a marked improvement from the UFC’s original tally, the live gate showed a significant decline. The finally tally included 2,348 compensated tickets, putting the average ticket price at $105.77.
Saturday’s card saw UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson retain his title by besting John Moraga with a fifth round submission victory. The Washington native pulled off the latest submission in UFC history with his armbar victory over Moraga.
The numbers are far lower than the UFC’s previous trips to Seattle. This past December, UFC on FOX 5 drew 14,412 in attendance with a live gate of $1.52-million and the UFC’s 2011 trip to Seattle, UFC Fight Night 24, drew a crowd of 13,741 and a live gate of $1.2 million.
