A welterweight pairing between Adlan Amagov and T.J. Waldburger has been set for UFC 166. The bout will land on the evening’s preliminary card. UFC officials added the bout to the Houston card earlier today.
A Strikeforce import, Chechen fighter Adlan Amagov made his UFC debut this past April at UFC on FUEL TV 9. Amagov defeated Chris Spang in his debut, utilizing his trademark spinning attacks to baffle the Swedish fighter en route to a unanimous decision victory.
Waldburger comes into the bout having won three of his last four fights. The native-Texan was last in action at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale, defeating Nick Catone via technical submission in the second round.
UFC 166 is headlined by the third fight between UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos. A bout between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson will co-headline the billing. The fight card will take place October 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. More bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
