A featherweight matchup between Rony “Jason” Bezerra and Jeremy Stephens is likely heading to Brazil for UFC Fight Night 29. MMAWeekly first reported the bout, and Stephens also announced his involvement on Facebook.
“Looks like my first trip to Brazil will be fighting in hostile territory on a UFC main card,” Stephens wrote. “Now we just need a certain someone to confirm to lock this up.”
The two featherweights head into the bout coming off victories in their previous outings. TUF: Brazil 1 champion Rony Jason defeated Mike Wilkinson at UFC on FUEL TV 10, marking his second victory since winning the reality show at UFC 147. Meanwhile Jeremy Stephens heads into the bout after snapping a three-fight losing streak in his featherweight debut at UFC 160.
UFC Fight Night 29 is rumored to be taking place October 9 in Brazil. No main event, location, or venue has been announced at this time. The billing will be the sixth show the promotion has put on in Brazil this year.
