Invicta Fighting Championships has signed strawweight (115lbs.) star Felice Herrig to an exclusive, multi-fight agreement. Herrig, a Jeff Curran protégé, will make her debut for Invicta FC later this year. Invicta FC officials announced the move earlier today.
Herrig has won four straight fights, last defeating Heather Jo Clark at Bellator 94. Herrig was clearly excited about the opportunity, stating via press release:
“I have seen them do so much for women and really give them a chance to shine. I don’t think anyone realized how big Invicta FC would become, and I am truly proud to say I have found a home with them.”
The talented striker has established herself as a force in the strawweight division by rounding out her game under Curran. The 2008 IFA bantamweight Muay Thai has competed with Bellator MMA, XFC, and the now-defunct World Combat League. It will be interesting to how the beautiful Herrig fairs in one of the most talented divisions in Invicta FC.
