Former UFC fighter and host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown Jason “Mayhem” Miller has built up quite the controversial reputation since being released from the UFC following a loss to CB Dollaway in May of 2012.
Suspicions of Mayhem going full retard first arose when on August 13th, 2013 TMZ reported that he was found vandalizing a church in Orange County. When police arrived at the scene, Miller was found inside the trashed building sitting on a couch wearing only a bath robe with an empty fire extinguisher that had been sprayed inside the chruch. This incident was following the weekend that he engaged in a Twitter war with former boss Dana White in which he suggested that Dana should “kill himself.” Coincidentally, this was also around the time of the bath-salts craze, though there are no confirmations of any connection between the two.
Fast forward a couple months and Miller is in a scheduled interview on Ariel Helwani’s talk show The MMA Hour. However, it wasn’t “Mayhem” that showed up for the interview, it was his alter-ego “Lucky Patrick” from the film Here Comes the Boom. “Patrick” was seen climbing onto Helwani’s desk, throwing his model action figures, calling Helwani a “Jew” and a “whore” all while being very irate when Helwani called him Mayhem rather than “Lucky Patrick.” Miller stormed off the set of the talk show about 40 minutes early proclaiming that Helwani’s talk show took place “in his mom’s basement.”
Two weeks later he returned to do the interview with Helwani in Central Park where he opened up and said it was merely a social experiment; he was curious if MMA fans and reporters would reach out to help a former fighter who appeared to be going through mental instability issues or if they would turn on him. Miller was very normal in this interview and seemed to have stabilized.
Fast forward ten months to August 11th, 2013, Miller was found at a party shouting at the neighbors of the host and had a warrant out for his arrest due to a domestic violence dispute reported on August 3rd, where he was accused of arguing with a female he lived with which escalated to an assault. “Mayhem” was arrested and his bail was set at $50,000. He is currently awaiting trial. although he has since released the following statement on his website:
“To Who it Concerns:
I and I beg for forgiveness. If I have brought shame or pain upon [victim], her Father, her Mother, her Sister, her children and [associate]. Know this; JAH THE ALMIGHTY SHALL JUDGE AND NO-MAN. I LOVE YOU. I APOLOGIZE WITH ALL MY HEART, DURING THE MOST CHALLENGING TIME OF MY life, I ask only for YOU TO UNNASTAN.
33.Samakatuwid magsisi at palayasin sa gayon na ang iyong mga kasalanan ay maaaring wiped-outMga Gawa 03:19
-J. Mayhem Lion”
It is not yet known if Miller has been cast for another movie with the role of a Rastafarian or if he has been studying the Filipino translation of the Bible (as the last part translates to “Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out. Acts 03:19”) but one thing seems pretty clear.
The former MMA fighter who was loved in Japan for his eccentric walkouts and colorful personality, who earned wins over fighters such as Tim Kennedy, Kazushi Sakuraba, and Robbie Lawler, and host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown has either succumb to a bipolar disorder… Or he has gone full retard.
