MMAFrenzy’s live coverage of UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann II continues with our UFC Fight Night 26 play-by-play. Our coverage will begin tonight at 8PM and continue through tonight’s main event pitting former welterweight number one contender Carlos Condit against Martin Kampmann. UFC Fight Night 27 Play-by-Play:

Robert “Bubba” McDaniel vs. Brad Tavares

Rd. 1- Big Dan is our referee tonight in Indy. Tavares is opening it up with heavy legkicks to start the action. McDaniel seizes a body lock and tries a takedown but cannot get it. McDaniels has not found his range yet as Tavares is staying just out of reach. Tavares lands a nice kick that catches McDaniel off balance but he plays it smart and backs out. McDaniel with another clinch to a takedown attempt and while it is close Tavares scrambles up. Brief break for a low blow by Bubba and we’re back. The outside of McDaniel’s leg is starting to wear the damage of the early kicks. Tavares counters McDaniel’s clinch by seizing control but he separates. Brutal body kick by Tavares catches Bubba stepping in before the round ends MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Tavares.

Rd. 2- Tavares goes right back to the legkicks to start the round and he has Bubba flinching every time he feints. Series of punches wobble McDaniels on two straight exchanges. Tavares is looking good. Tavares lands a combination right as McDaniel advances but Bubba does manage a takedown off an accidental headbutt. Tavares scrambles back to his feet and he is up without much damage. McDaniel is wearing the damage all over his body. Tavares is alternating inside/outside leg kicks now. McDaniel is starting to look a bit befuddled in the cage as the crowd starts to boo a bit. Tavares with a takedown attempt and he has to evade a Bubba reversal before he eventually lets Bubba up. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Tavares (20-18).

Rd. 3- Bubba lands a nice left hand and it briefly wobbles Tavares but he makes the mistake of clinching rather than attacking and Brad recovers. Nasty groin strike by Tavares drops McDaniel and we have a brief break. Fighters touch gloves on the restart by Big Dan. Nice body kick by McDaniel. Bubba drops into a double leg off a combo and he ends up in Tavares’ half guard. Tavares recovers guard now as McDaniel is unable to advance. Tavares is attacking with a kimura now but Bubba respects it and backs out. McDaniel ties to take his opponent’s back but a delayed granby roll by Tavares gets him back to guard. McDaniel is trying to a dominant position with a minute left , and briefly has side control, but Tavares recovers half guard as the fight ends. MMAFrenzy has the round 10-9 McDaniel but the fight to Tavares (29-28).

Takeya Mizugaki vs. Erik Perez

Rd. 1- “Mini Brock” is our referee. Mizugaki landing early with nice punches and Perez responds with one of his own. Nasty exchange with both fighters landing big shots. Perez just misses a flying knee but lands a right on the follow up. Perez with a double leg but he cannot really seem to finish it and Mizugaki works back up briefly. Perez’s nose is bleeding badly now. Perez catches a kick and his coach Greg Jackson is giving good instruction as Perez lands a takedown briefly. Mizugaki is back up and then he lands a hard double leg and he quickly has a hook in while having Perez’s back. Perez escapes and lands a knee on the way up. Perez tries a takedown of his own but Mizugaki works up. Great first round. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Perez.

Rd. 2- Perez misses another flying knee and he eats a combo. Perez tries an awkward wheel kick and it hits nothing but air. Both guys are using more feints now. Nice straight right by Mizugaki starts another wild exchange. Perez is denied on a takedown attempt. Mizugaki with a step knee as Perez shoots and it allows him to shuck the takedown attempt. Mizugaki is taking advantage of Perez’s wilder style and landing some nice counters. Wicked left hook counter by Mizugaki and Perez tries another takedown. Ricky Lundell is calling out good advice to Perez and Goyito lands the takedown but really cannot do anything with it before Mizugaki is out. Another right by Mizugaki counter’s Perez. Perez’s nose is bleeding bad as the clapper sounds and he lands a brief takedown but cannot control it as the round ends. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Mizugaki (19-19).

Rd. 3- Perez lands a leg kick but then eats a nasty combo by Mizugaki. Wild exchange that Mizugaki gets the better off. Perez lands a takedown and lands a few punches. Mizugaki uses the cage to stand and lands a nice bodylock to outside trip takedown. Perez has one butterfly as he tries to scramble. Mizugaki has his back and goes for the choke. Perez somehow escapes and we have yet another wild exchange. Great fight. Perez in on a takedown of his own now with just over a minute left. Perez is just grapevining the leg with his own but Mizugaki slips it and works back up. Mizugaki seizes control in the clinch and the fight ends in a flurry as the crowd cheers. MMAFrenzy has the round, and the fight, for Mizugaki 10-9 (29-28).

Court McGee vs. Robert Whittaker

Rd. 1- Herb Dean is our referee tonight in Indy. McGee stalks his prey immediately and lands an over-under tie early before Whittaker sags out. McGee is landing nice accurate strikes so far while Whittaker is carrying his hands a little low. Headkick to low kick by McGee. More legkicks by McGee while Whittaker spies the counter opportunity. Nasty left hook by Whittaker stops a McGee takedown attempt in its tracks. McGee going to the head and then body and then lands a knee pick before Whittaker escapes. McGee is bleeding at the left hairline now but it is not in his vision. Body kick by McGee and a left by Whittaker. Nice exchange as the round ends and the fighters shake hands after a few blows land after the horn. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 McGee but it is anyone’s round.

Rd. 2- McGee is stalking again and lands some nice combos early. McGee parries a punch by Whittaker and the New Zealander slips. Huge left hook by McGee has Whittaker hurting but he manages to recover and McGee lands another left. Whittaker circles out and gets stuck on the cage and eats a hard elbow on the exit by McGee. McGee has a takedown and nearly takes his opponents back but Whittaker fires out and survives. Nice elbow by Whittaker lands. McGee is landing well volume wise while respecting the power of Whittaker. Cut has opened up under McGee’s right now. Nice jab to an elbow by Whittaker. Whittaker is starting to find his range with a minute left. McGee sees yet another takedown stuffed. Nice headkick slaps the back of the head and McGee responds with a combo that lands a few after the bell again. MMAFrenzy has it 10-10 after Whittaker’s late comeback. (20-19)

Rd. 3- Whittaker comes out more aggressive to start the round. Spinning back kick lands from Court McGee and the crowd loves it. McGee parries another punch by Whittaker and lands a series of his own. Fighters are exchanging jabs now. Nice 1-2-1 combo by Whittaker. Nice jab catches Whittaker coming in but the Kiwi fighter lands a nasty hook. Whittaker is bleeding now too. Another spinning kick by McGee but it has little behind it. Whittaker lands again with the left. Been a fun fight. McGee with a nice elbow combo of his own and he lands a good strike. Wicked left hook by McGee and he clearly has found his range again. Big leg kick by McGee. Whittaker isn’t wilting but he is taking a lot of shots here. Huge flurry by both fighters elicits a massive ovation from the crowd as the round ends. MMAFrenzy has the round and the fight going to McGee 10-9, (30-28).

Kelvin Gastelum vs. Brian Melancon

Rd. 1- Wild exchanges early on before Kelvin lands a driving takedown. Melancon works back up but eats some elbows and a knee. Melancon works out and lands a body shot. Gastelum lands a brief takedown and lands a shot as Melancon escapes. Melancon is putting power in every shot but he eats a nasty uppercut and gets dropped hard. Gastelum quickly passes to his opponents back and sinks in a fight-ending RNC. Impressive victory by Gastelum.

Donald Cerrone vs. Rafael dos Anjos

Rd. 1- Big Dan Miraglotta is our referee tonight. Cerrone opens the fight with tough leg kicks. RDA responds by attacking the body with a kick of his own. Nice exchange by both fighters here. Teeps to the body now by both men. RDA lands a big combo but Cerrone lands a big knee. Cerrone catches a kick and lands a few of his own before releasing it. RDA with a nice combo. Cerrone is wearing the damage already below his right eye. Massive right hook by RDA floors Cerrone and RDA is all over him but Cerrone threatens with a triangle as he recovers and RDA backs out briefly before reestablishing half guard. Cerrone recovers guard and attacks with the triangle but RDA passes it before Cerrone recovers. guard again. RDA is landing short elbows now and then he lands a pair of massive ones. More elbows by RDA as the round ends. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Dos Anjos.

Rd. 2- Cerrone a bit more tanative to start the round as RDA stalks him down. Nice body ti head combo by RDA. Cerrone is telegraphing his shots but he opens up a cut on RDA. RDA with a big knee and the crowd responds. Cerrone surprises RDA with a takedown of his own into half guard. RDA tries a sweep but Cerrone neutralizes it by hooking the leg. Cerrone tires a guillotine but it allows RDA back up. RDA controls the clinch but takes a knee to the body on the way out. Hook glances off Cerrone’s head. RDA drops to a double and he gets it with 50-ticks left in the round. Fighters are battling for position in Cerrone’s guard. Short shots by RDA and he stands and tries another shot as the round ends but Cerrone defends. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Dos Anjos (20-18).

Rd. 3- Huge legkick lands from Cerrone but RDA responds withe a head kick. Inside leg kick by RDA. Cerrone is rebuffed on a takedown but lands a slapping hook on the exit. Body kick by RDA. Cerrone just looks too tight here. Big body kick by Cerrone. RDA’s face is starting to wear damage around his left eye. RDA uses a Cerrone kick to shoot a double but Cowboy refuses to go down easy. RDA lets it go and avoids the counter. Nice legkick by Cerrone but he eats a hard right. Step knee to the body by Cowboy. Dos Anjos is bleeding hard now and Cerrone opens up RDA. High-C attempt by RDA is stuffed with a minute left. Crowd is really getting behind Cerrone with 0:45 left now. Big combo by RDA. RDA just circles away from Cerrone as the round ends with Cowboy trying an errant flying knee. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Cerrone but the fight to Dos Anjos (29-28).

Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann

Rd. 1- No touch of gloves. Cerrone is immediately in on a single leg but he switches to a body lock and lands an outside trip. Condit is attacking with a very active guard and he looks for a heel hook before Kampmann drops back into guard. Punches by Kampmann. Condit gives up his back to escape but Kampmann with a nice snatch and return to the canvas and he has Condit’s back. Condit reverses him though and lands some shots before Kampmann is back up. Kampmann lands another takedown and Condit attacks the kimura. Condit uses his legs to push off and stand. Kampmann with some nice shots and backs to the center. Left hook by Condit but Kampmann lands another takedown. Condit is very active off his back as the round ends. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Kampmann.

Rd. 2- Kampmann with a nice straight to start the action. Condit just misses a wheel kick after shucking a takedown attempt. Nice lefts by Kampmann. Nice exchange by both fighters and Condit stuffs another takedown. Wicked combo by Condit and Kampmann attacks another takedown and Condit reverses it but does not get the Dane down. Another nice combo by Condit. Pair of rights by Condit as he slips Kampmann. Crowd is getting into every strike here. Wicked exchange by both fighters but Condit gets the better of it by finishing with a head kick. Spinning back fist attempt by Condit just misses and Kampmann tries a double leg from too far away. Condit slips Kampmanns takedown and nearly secures a reversal. Kampmann stands and tries another takedown but is rebuffed. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Condit (19-19).

Rd. 3- Condit is stifling Kampmann’s advance with combos that are just missing landing flush. Condit with an oblique kick to a headkick now. Single to crotch-lift by Kampmann and he takes down Condit.Kampmann switches to a body lock as Condit stands. Condit pummels out. Jab to headkick by Condit. Condit lands a nasty combo with a right elbow and the Dane’s face is split above his eye and nose. Kampmann keeps wiping his eye and Condit is tasting the blood in the water. Kampmann’s face is covered in blood now as Condit is finding his range with authority. Codnit is starting to land at will now and Kampmann tries a desperate takedown but he nearly gets caught in a guillotine. Kampmann spins out but Condit takes his back and goes for a choke briefly. Both men are covered in Kampmann’s blood as the round ends and the doctor is stepping in to observe it and waves it on. MMAFrenzy has it 10-9 Condit (29-28).

Rd. 4- Kampmann’s face is a mess but he lands an early takedown but doesn’t cover the hips and he lands a big right as Condit stands. Condit hurts Kampmann with a left hook and he is swarming with furious abandon and Kampmann drops after a few shots following a devastating liver shot by Condit.. Few more shots from Condit and Herb Dean mercifully ends it.
