Bellator MMA is heading back to the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey for Bellator 108. Headlining the November 15 fight card will be a Bellator middleweight title fight between champion Alexander Shlemenko and Doug Marshall. Bellator MMA officials recently announced the November fight card.
The two fighters were originally supposed to meet at Bellator 98 before Marshall was forced off the card due to injury. Marshall earned his title shot by winning the Season 8 middleweight tournament by defeating Brett Cooper.
Marshall is looking to take full advantage of his title shot now that he is healthy, stating,”I was bummed when I had to watch Brett Cooper take my spot because of my injury, but after watching the fight I was able to see that there is no way Shlemenko can beat me. The only thing Shlemenko has is that he is tough. There is no doubt in my mind that I am the most powerful middleweight in the division. As soon as Shlemenko feels my fist on the side of his face he will be sleeping on the mat. Winning this fight is a no brainer for me.”
Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko carries an eleven-fight win streak into his showdown with Marshall. Shlemenko was last in action at Bellator 98, where he dispatched Marshall’s replacement, Cooper, in one of the better fights the Bellator cage has seen.
“Fans know exactly what to expect when they see me fight, and I like to entertain,” Shlemenko said. “And I’m very glad that I’ll have a chance to entertain them again fighting against Doug Marshall. He’s a tough fighter, the type of fighter with whom I’ll be able to show a spectacular bout that everyone will remember.”
The main card will air live via Spike TV, with an earlier start date of 8PM EST. Tickets for the event are currently on sale from $35. The rest of the Bellator 108 lineup is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
