Ferguson Takes Home “Submission of the Night”

Tony Ferguson picked up $60K for “Submission of the Night” tonight in Houston. Ferguson secured the lone submission on the card but it was a very impressive D’arce choke finish that would have been a front runner for the award on most nights. The bonus was The Ultimate Fighter 13 champion’s second in the UFC.

Dodson Secures “KO of the Night”

It is no secret that John Dodson has rare knockout power for a flyweight fighter and he showed that power tonight against Darrell Montague. Dodson took home “KO of the Night” for his vicious victory in tonight’s PPV opener. The bonus is The Ultimate Fighter 14 champion’s third in five UFC fights, Dodson also picked up a bonus for “KO of the Season” on TUF 14.

Melendez and Sanchez Awarded “Fight of the Night” in Classic

In one of the least surprising awards in UFC history, Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez picked up “Fight of the Night” for their incredible three round war. The two fighters battled it out in a bloody three round slugfest that brought the Toyota Center to a frenzy and saw the former Strikeforce champion victorious. The bonus is Melendez’s first in two fights and Sanchez’s sixth in the Octagon.
