MMAFrenzy’s coverage of WSOF 6 rolls our long with our recaps of tonight’s non-title fights. Tonight’s co-main event saw Marlon Moraes defeat Carson Beebe in a hard-hitting bantamweight battle on the NBC Sports Network main card. In other action, Jon Fitch and Justin Gaethje picked up wins.
Moraes Annihilates Beebe
Marlon Moraes has been establishing himself as one of the best bantamweight prospects in the world and the 25-year-old solidified that standing against Carson Beebe. Moraes took advantage of Beebe’s over-aggressive game plan to land massive shots throughout the duration of their co-main event battle. Moraes has now won six straight fights against solid competition.
Fitch Rebounds Against Alfaya
UFC veteran Jon Fitch got a bit more than he bargained for tonight against Marcelo Alfaya but managed to get back in the win column in Coral Gables. After a rocky first round where Alfaya showed surprising wrestling and strength, Fitch started to seize control in the second half of the second round and the third round. Fitch showed very accurate striking but was never able to really establish usually dominant ground game. The victory snaps a two-fight skid for Fitch.
Gaethje Floors Lauzon
One of the top lightweight prospects in MMA continued his ascent tonight with a brutal TKO victory over Dan Lauzon. Both fighters wasted little time to start exchanging leather but the wicked leg kicks of Gaethje wreaked havoc on “The Upgrade.” While Lauzon was able to answer the bell in the second, Gaethje did not let him stand long as he pressure and secured a brutal uppercut finish as Lauzon’s right knee gave way.
