UFC 167 drew a reported attendance of 14,856 fans for a $5.7-million live gate. The numbers put the MGM Grand Garden event second only to UFC 148 in terms of live gate at the venue. UFC president Dana White reported the preliminary numbers at the UFC 167 post-fight press conference.
Last night’s card saw UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre retain his title in controversial fashion after an exciting main event battle with Johny Hendricks. The two battled it over the course of their five round fight with Hendricks pushing St-Pierre to the breaking point in Las Vegas. While many had Hendricks winning, two of the judges would see the bout for St-Pierre.
As stated above, the numbers represent an impressive haul from what was an entertaining card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The amount of compensated tickets was not announced, which puts the average ticket at $383.63. The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is expected to release the full report later in the week.
