The UFC has added an impressive trio of fights to the UFC on FOX 11 lineup set for Orlando. Headlining the trio is a lightweight bout that sees top contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael dos Anjos meet in Orlando, Florida. Two other recently announced bouts will see Yoel Romero take on Brad Tavares and Pat Healy take on Jorge Masvidal.
It has taken several revisions and call outs but Dagestan’s Khabib Nurmagomedov finally has a fight after fellow countryman Rustam Khabilov was forced out of his UFC 170 bout with Rafael dos Anjos due to injury. The crafty Brazilian will take on one of the few lightweights on a hotter run than he is when he puts his five fight win streak against Nurmagomedov’s twenty-one fight win streak.
In the second announced fight, Cuban ex-pat Yoel Romero will take on fellow fringe contender Brad Tavares. The middleweight pairing will see the two surging fighters look to make the jump into the title picture win a win at the Amway Center. Both men head to Orlando after picking up victories at UFC Fight Night 35 in Duluth, Georgia.
Last, but certainly not least, in the trio is a lightweight pairing between Strikeforce veterans Pat Healy and Jorge Masvidal. While both men enjoyed early success after the demise of Strikeforce both are in need of a victory after losses in their previous outings.
UFC on FOX 11 takes place April 19 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The FOX main card will be headlined by a heavyweight number one contender bout between Travis Browne and Fabrico Werdum.
