Josh Thomson isn’t sure what his future holds as far as MMA goes, but for the time being, he wants his ligaments in working order.
Thomson, who lost to Benson Henderson last month, posted a photo of himself before entering surgery for an injured hand. The surgery took place on Monday.
“Another road to recovery has started and we’ll see what the future has in store,” Thomson wrote.
After returning to the UFC and defeating Nate Diaz, Thomson was declared the No. 1 contender. However, UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis suffered and injury and the title-fight was scrapped.
Instead of waiting, Thomson agreed to meet Henderson. He lost via decision in Chicago.
