Lesnar ($450,000), Couture ($250,000) Top UFC 91 Payroll

Newly-crowned UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was the top earner at UFC 91, earning $450,000 for his second-round TKO of former title-holder Randy Couture, who received $250,000 for his losing effort.

The total disclosed payroll for the event was $1,118,000.

Riley, Gurgel, Hazelett, and Stephens Earn UFC 91 Bonuses

The UFC has awarded Aaron Riley, Jorge Gurgel, Dustin Hazelett, and Jeremy Stephens with $60,000 bonuses for their performances on Saturday at UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar in Las Vegas.

Riley and Gurgel took home “Fight of the Night” honors for their standup brawl that saw Riley unanimously edge Gurgel 29-28 on the judge’s score cards.

14,272 Attend UFC 91 For $4.8 Million Live Gate

A near-sellout crowd of 14,272 fans packed the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night for UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar, which was highlighted by Brock Lesnar’s second-round TKO of former title-holder Randy Couture in the evening’s main event.

The event recorded a live gate of $4.8 million, which is good for the third most lucrative UFC event ever in Nevada behind UFC 66, which was headlined by Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz, and UFC 79, which featured Georges St-Pierre vs. Matt Hughes and Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva.

UFC 91 Results: Lesnar TKOs Couture To Claim Heavyweight Title

Brock Lesnar became the new UFC heavyweight champion in the UFC 91 main event on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, knocking out heavyweight title-holder and UFC hall of famer Randy Couture with strikes midway through the second round of their championship bout.

Kenny Florian, Dustin Hazelett, Gabriel Gonzaga, and Demian Maia were also victorious on the UFC 91 main card.

UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar Weigh-In Results

UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture (220) and challenger Brock Lesnar (265) tipped the scales today at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, successfully weighing in for their main event matchup, which headlines UFC 91 tomorrow night live on pay-per-view.

The remainder of the 18-fighter card also successfully made weight, including lightweight contenders Kenny Florian (156) and Joe Stevenson (156), who clash in tomorrow’s co-feature with a 155-pound title shot on the line.

Two More UFC 91 Fighters Pass Preliminary Drug Tests

Middleweights Nate Quarry and Demian Maia, who are scheduled to square off on Saturday at UFC 91 in Las Vegas, have both passed preliminary drug screenings administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission prior to the pay-per-view event.

They join fellow-UFC 91 competitors Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Aaron Riley, Jorge Gurgel, Mark Bocek, and Alvin Robinson on the list of fighters who have passed the preliminary tests.

Amir Sadollah Scratched From UFC 91 Due To Leg Infection; Hazelett-McCrory Shifted To Main Card

The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah has been scratched from his UFC 91 bout against Nick Catone due to a leg infection, the UFC today announced.

The promotion was unable to secure a late replacement for Sadollah and the middleweight matchup has been canceled, however a planned welterweight bout between up-and-comers Dustin Hazelett and Tamdan McCrory has now been shifted to Saturday’s pay-per-view main card.

Matt Brown Replaces Injured Matt Riddle at UFC 91

Matt Riddle has been forced out of his welterweight debut against Ryan Thomas at UFC 91 after suffering a knee injury, which is expected to require surgery and will knock him out of action for a minimum of six weeks.

Replacing Riddle in the 170-pound matchup is fellow “The Ultimate Fighter 7″ cast member Matt Brown.

Preliminary UFC 91 Drug Tests Come Back Negative

Preliminary steroid and drug tests on six fighters scheduled to compete on November 15th at UFC 91 in Las Vegas have all come back negative, according to Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer.

Tested by the NSAC were Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Nick Catone, Amir Sadollah, Aaron Riley and Jorge Gurgel.
