Kendall Grove Eyeing February Return

By: Kris Karkoski (admin) | Oct 8, 2008

Kendall GroveUltimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall Grove is likely to return to the octagon in February, according to Fightline.com, which confirmed the return date directly with the UFC middleweight.

“I’ll start training again here soon and will be ready to go early 2009,” said Grove.

Grove and his girlfriend had a daughter, Khloe, on July 31st and he also recently opened a new MMA gym, which have been consuming most of his time, though the 185-pound fighter is confident he’ll soon resume regular training for an early-2009 return to the octagon, potentially at UFC 95 which is slated for February.

Grove rebounded from back-to-back first-round knockout losses to Patrick Cote and Jorge Rivera with a split decision win over the late Evan Tanner at The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale in June.

wow I can’t stand this guy, I hope he gets wrecked. Someone knock him the f out

  2. gunslinger says:

hes a good fighter…hell never be mdw champ though…..a possible tuf 3 finale rematch i would like that

  3. SlickKid says:

Kendall isn’t that good, rivera killed him the one fight so did cote,i think him versus amir would be the next likely match up, or bring
loiseau back and make kendall his first victom

  4. Justin says:

They’ll probably give them both a can before they fight each other. I think they are both about on the same level, though. Not a fan of Grove.

  5. kouch says:

To me, Kendall has been the biggest TUF bust so far……maybe I am forgetting someone but as of right now it is him.

  6. Justin says:

    KOuch,
I agree with that assessment, however the end result for Danzig and Diaz is still yet to be seen. (Diaz shows more potential out of those two.) Also, Travis Lutter is no longer with the UFC, but I don’t think that Season 4 should count when talking about best/worst fighters that came out of TUF.

  7. johnboy says:

i dont mind grove i think he is a good fighter, he needs to lets his feet and hands go alot more then he does tho if he want to challenge the big boys,

by the way grove would kill amir

  8. dbiz says:

As I recall, Johnboy, so would Matt Brown. And CB Dolloway in the finale. Amir seems to be a mini-Couture in that respect.

  9. johnboy says:

i think grove is on a higher level then all of these guys, but i no wat u mean DBiz amir likes to shock people

  10. dbiz says:

I think too many people forget that Amir wasn’t even a pro fighter when his TUF season started. That boy has unlimited potential. He just finishes every fight like Forrest - even when he wins he looks like he got battered for the entire fight.

  11. Mikew says:

He has all the tools to be effectivr fighting a tall mans striking game but has not learned to make the seperation he needs.
He has devastating Muai Thai with good knees also but has a suspect chin as Cote showed. I dont expect him to be more than a journeyman fighter.
