Anderson Silva Wants To Fight Again

UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva, fresh off his underwhelming injury TKO victory over Patrick Cote on Saturday at UFC 90, is already eyeing a return and, if he could have his way, it’d come next month.

“[Anderson Silva's] flipping out. He wants to fight again, like, on Nov. 15,” UFC President Dana White told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “He’s (upset) about his performance and he wants to fight again immediately.”

Various entities throughout the MMA media scope have been critical of Anderson Silva’s less than punishing performance against Patrick Cote at UFC 90 this past weekend. After much speculation as to what exactly the motivation was behind Silva’s unorthodox antics, the middleweight king has alas released a statement to Sherdog explaining his actions.

“There are many people saying I was disrespecting Cote, but this is absolutely not true. My game plan since the beginning was fight five rounds, inducing him to commit mistakes and capitalize on that during the first three rounds and look for the knockout during the fourth and fifth rounds. It was working, and the biggest proof of that is that I almost didn’t waste any blows. I connected with a couple of good punches and knees, but unfortunately he got hurt and the fight was over. This is not my fault.”
