Griffin-Evans, Nogueira-Mir, and Silva-Jackson Announced For UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008

The UFC today officially announced the headlining bouts for UFC 92 “The Ultimate 2008″.

As previously rumored, UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin will battle top 205-pound contender Rashad Evans for the 205-pound title, UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio “Rodrigo” Nogueira faces fellow-TUF 8 coach Frank Mir for the heavyweight title, and former champions Wanderlei Silva and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson are also scheduled to go toe-to-toe.

UFC 92, which will air live on pay-per-view, takes place on December 27th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The names of several of the assistant coaches for the “Ultimate Fighter 8″ were recently revealed by Tatame.com.
Among coach Frank MIr’s assistants are jiu jitsu champion Robert Drysdale, who won the famed open weight Abu Dhabi Submission Wrestling World Championship in 2007, and conditioning coach Rafael Alejarra, who has recently served as Wanderlei Silva’s conditioning [...]

Medical Suspensions Handed Out to Six UFC 81 Fighters

Six of the eighteen fighters who participated in bouts at UFC 81 “Breaking Point” have received medical suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, according to documents MMAFrenzy.com has received directly from the NSAC.
