The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Atlantic City on July 16. UFC President Dana White announced Thursday night that No. 7 ranked lightweight Donald Cerrone has verbally agreed to face No. 9 ranked Jim Miller in the five-round main event at Revel Casino-Hotel. Miller is from Whippany, Morris County.

Dana said: “These two fighters have 15 ‘Fight Night’ bonuses between them, including three ‘Fight of the Night’ awards each,” White said in a statement. “This is a great fight for the fans in Atlantic City!”

Cerrone (23-6-1) has three wins by knockout, 15 wins by submission and five by decision in his MMA career. In his last four fights he is 3-1, he lost to Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision back in August of 2013. Since then he has been on a three fight winning streak with wins over Evan Dunham via Triangle Choke back in November, then a 1st RD knockout win over Adriano Martins in January of this year. Finally, in his last fight he beat Edson Barboza via rear naked choke last month at UFC on Fox 11.

Miller (24-4-1) has three wins coming by knockout, 14 wins by submission and 7 fights wins by decision. He has only been finished once in his career and that a submission loss against Nate Diaz. He has won his last two fights, the first one came by armbar over Fabricio Camoes in the first round back at UFC 168. He beat Yancy Medeiros at UFC 172 via Guillotine Choke in the first round.

UFC last appeared in Atlantic City at Revel on June 22, 2012, with a card headlined by Gray Maynard’s split-decision win over Clay Guida before 4,652 fans.
