Today will feature not one, but two, UFC cards, and the first will go down in Stockholm, Sweden. The prelims will feature the likes of Dennis Siver and Cathal Pendred, as well as Swedish fighters like Tor Troeng and Nico Musoke.

Now, let’s get to the preliminary card action.
Ernest Chavez vs. Zubaira Tukhugov
Round 1: Both featherweights come out throwing the odd kick and punch, but Tukhugov seems to be finding the mark more often. By mid round, Tukhugov has landed several telling shots, and starts firing off spinning backfists. Chavez has a cut above his right eye.
The Chechen lands a thumping right straight that sends Chavez reeling back. After a series of follow up shots, the bout is brought to a halt in Tukhugov’s favor. Impressive victory for the featherweight.

Marcin Bandel vs. Mairbek Taisumov
Round 1: Both lightweights come out aggressively, but not long into the bout, Taisumov floors Bandel with a cracking right straight. A stunned Bandel tries to get back up, but the ref stops the fight after Taisumov lands a couple more punches. Wow.

Krzysztof Jotko vs. Tor Troeng
Round 1: Jotko comes out firing punches at Troeng, but the latter clinches up with the middleweight along the Octagon fence. Jotko breaks free and resumes his attack, but Troeng once again pushes him up against the cage. Troeng manages to sweep Jotko to the mat but only for a second.
The action winds up along the fence once more, and Jotko lands a couple of elbows from the clinch. Jotko lands a couple of hard shots before the round comes to an end (and lets out a big yell after the bell…alrighty then).
Round 2: Troeng continues to look for the clinch and or takedown, but Jotko is shrugging it off and landing strikes.When the action is a long the cage, Jotko is landing elbows, punches and knees. Jotko continues to pick away with hard strikes but Troeng is hanging on. Finally, Troeng reverses Jotko along the fence, but only for a moment. Round comes to an end and Troeng is likely in need of a finish to win.
Round 3: Troeng comes out and immediately ties up Jotko in search of a takedown. Jotko appears to land a knee to Troeng’s head as the two scramble along the fence. Troeng finally sweeps the Polish fighter to the mat, but once again, Jotko gets right back up. Jotko’s offensive output continues to be more than Troeng’s.
As the final minute starts, Jotko takes Troeng to the mat and lands shots from above. Jotko connects with a nice, sneaky elbow. Troeng gets back up, but is unable to land any telling shots before the fight ends.

Gasan Umalatov vs. Cathal Pendred
Round 1: Pendred comes out winging punches and kicks, before locking up Umalatov in search of a takedown. The latter manages to work his way free, before the two exchange some hard punches. Pendred clinches up once again, and after some hard work, manages to get the Russian welterweight to the mat. Umalatov gets back to his feet, and the two break away from the fence.
Pendred continues to shoot in, but Umalatov is defending and firing back punches. In the final seconds of the round, Umalatov lands a hard right overhand, but Pendred shrugs it off.
Round 2: Pendred is throwing more kicks as the round starts, including a spinning kick which misses. Umalatov continues to pursue the Irish fighter. Umalatov lands a thumping counter left, but Pendred doesn’t seem phased. Not long after, Umalatov floors Pendred with a hard right straight, but the SBG fighter gets back up.
Pendred shoots in for a takedown, but is unable to lock up with Umalatov. As final seconds of the round tick off, Umalatov is defending another takedown attempt. Gritty fight.
Round 3: Pendred continues to throw inside leg kicks as round starts. Umalatov lands another counter left hook. Pendred briefly puts his hands up in the air in response to Umalatov’s slow pace, but the Russian seems content to counter strike. Umalatov throws a spinning kick which misses, but lands a overhand right. Umalatov stuffs another takedown attempt. Pendred is being more aggressive as final minutes tick off, but Umalatov appears to be landing more strikes. Close fight.

Charles Rosa vs. Dennis Siver
Round 1: Rosa and Siver come out throwing plenty of punches and kicks. Rosa is winging a hard overhand right and Siver is countering with a left hook. Siver blasts in with a takedown and gets Rosa to the ground. Siver is working from sidemount and throwing the odd elbow. The German featherweight locks in a side choke but Rosa has his arm up to defend. Siver gives it up and Rosa proceeds to attack with a knee bar, and a triangle choke attempt during a crazy scramble. Rounds end with both men on their feet. Great five minutes of action.
Round 2: Featherweights continue to produce plenty of strikes as round two begins. Rosa slips and falls to the mat but quickly gets back up. Siver manages to get the American to the mat after the two exchange shots. Siver loses top position after failing to take Rosa’s back. As mid round approaches, Siver has reversed Rosa and is working from mount. Rosa briefly sweeps Siver but loses the position. Solid action on the floor. Round ends with Siver working from the top.
Round 3: Shortly into the round, Rosa catches a Siver kick and trips him to the floor, but the latter works his way into the top position shortly after. Rosa starts working a toe hold. Siver eventually takes Rosa’s back and starts looking for a choke. The ATT fighter defends but Siver moves into the top position. Rosa looks for an armbar, but Siver sees it coming and transitions into sidemount. Fighters end up scrambling back to their feet.
Siver lands a pounding spinning back-kick to the body of Rosa, and follows up with a knee to the head. Rosa falls to the mat and Siver starts working from the top. Rosa does a good job of defending, and the final bell sounds as Siver looks for an armbar. Amazing scrap.

Alexander Yakovlev vs. Nico Musoke
Round 1: Action winds up along the fence not long in. Musoke is throwing the odd hard knee and punch as Yakovlev is up against the cage. The two break away from the fence. Yakovlev attempts another takedown but Musoke defends. More clinch work along the fence. As the final minute of the round begins the two exchange a few strikes in the center of the Octagon. Musoke has a cut on the right part of his forehead. Yakovlev lands a couple of hard strikes before the round ends.
Round 2: Yakovlev lands a right hand to begin the round and Musoke pushes him up against the fence. The Russian breaks away. Yakovlev also has a small cut on his forehead. The two exchange strikes and Musoke looks for a takedown. Yakovlev defends. The latter is calling Musoke on and is winging hard shots. Musoke clinches up with him along the fence. Both fighters are throwing hard punches but neither one is landing regularly. Musoke eventually clinches up with Yakovlev again.
Round 3: Both welterweights come out firing for round three. Yakovlev changes levels but can’t get Musoke down. Musoke lands a left hand and starts looking for a takedown, but Yakovlev defends. Musoke continues to pursue Yakovlev, and is landing a few strikes from the clinch. Yakovlev continues to throw hard left hands. Musoke pushes Yakovlev up against the fence once again but the latter works his way free. Now Yakovlev is pouring on shots but Musoke counters by clinching up.

Scott Askham vs. Magnus Cedenblad
Round 1: Askham throws a head kick early on but it doesn’t land flush. Cedenblad begins looking for a takedown along the cage. The Swedish middleweight picks Askham up and takes him to the mat. Cedenblad works from within Askham’s guard. Cedenblad is unable to pass but lands a few punches from above. Cedenblad throws a few elbows from the top before the round ends.
Round 2: Shortly into round, Askham lands a hard kick to the body before Cedenblad shoots in and takes the British fighter down. Cedenblad continues to attempt passing but Askham defends. Ref stops the action and brings the fighters up. Both men land hard punches in the follow up exchange, and Askham pushed Cedenblad up against the fence. Cedenblad attempts trip but Askham pops back up. Not long after, Askham blasts Cedenblad with a filthy front kick to the face. Cedenblad is staggered but ties up Askham before the round ends.
Round 3: Cedenblad fires off a head kick and attempts to take Askham down. The latter works a nicely executed switch, but Cedenblad scrambles to Askham’s back. In ensuing scramble, Cedenblad works way into Askham’s half guard and throws shots from above. Askham restores guard but Cedenblad keeps busy from the top. Referee stands the middleweights up with approximately 30 seconds left. Askham lands a left hook and a few knees before the fight ends.
