Chad Mendes may have dropped Jose Aldo, and rocked him a couple of times, but the featherweight champ still did enough to retain the title at UFC 179.

Aldo and Mendes threw down in what was an instant, five round classic, and both men landed brutal shots throughout the fight. Aldo also sent the challenger reeling to the canvas on more than one occasion, and outscored Mendes for the unanimous decision win.
