The next phase of Andrei Arlovski’s UFC comeback run will have to wait, as the heavyweight recently underwent surgery to repair an injured shoulder.
News of Arlovski’s injury was reported by “UFC Tonight’s” Ariel Helwani.
The correspondent was told by Arlovski’s manager that “The Pitbull” will be sidelined six to eight weeks. As a result, the former champ hasn’t been considering who he wants to fight next.
Arlovski is coming off a vicious, KO win over “Bigfoot” Silva in September, after he narrowly got by Brendan Schaub with a decision win in June.
The 35 year-old fighter has gone 8-1, with 1 no contest, in his 10 scraps. Arlovski’s only defeat during that time came via decision to Anthony Johnson at WSOF 2.
Arlovski is currently ranked #7 in the UFC’s heavyweight division.
