After suffering back-to-back, stoppage losses to Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, Diego Brandao has his next challenge and it’s the talented grappler, Jim Hettes.

The UFC has announced that the featherweights will fight at UFC 183, which will go down in Las Vegas on January 31st.

It’s a big fight for Brandao (18-10), who prior to facing Poirier and McGregor, had won three in a row, and was living up to the hype which surrounded his TUF 14 victory. Brandao won that season by tapping out current contender Dennis Bermudez in the opening round.

“DB” was decisioned by Darren Elkins in his next bout, but proceeded to roll out victories over Joey Gambino, Pablo Garza and Daniel Pineda.

Hettes (11-2) is coming off a decision loss to the aforementioned Bermudez, which followed his choke-out victory over Robert Whiteford in October, 2013. “The Kid” has gone 3-2 during his time with the UFC, as he’s also defeated Alex Caceres and Nam Phan, but was defeated by Marcus Brimage in 2012.

So, that’s an interesting addition to UFC 183, which will feature the legendary middleweight Anderson Silva taking on Nick Diaz in the main event.
