If you’re a fan of aggressive fighters with developed striking pedigrees, then you’ll be happy to hear that Brandon Thatch has been booked to fight Stephen Thomspon at the UFC’s February 14th event.

The welterweight scrap will  be part of a UFC Fight Night card that will be hosted by Broomfield, Colorado’s 1st Bank Arena.

Thompson (10-1) continues to put distance between himself and the 2012, decision loss he incurred versus Matt Brown, as the noted kickboxer has won four straight bouts. Most recently, Thompson worked his way to a decision win over Patrick Cote in September.

“Wonderboy” also holds stoppage wins over Robert Whittaker and Chris Clements during that stretch.

After winning his first two, UFC bouts last year, Thatch will go through 2014 without fighting. “Rukus” had been scheduled to fight Jordan Mein in August, but a trashed toe prevented him from fighting. The Colorado fighter has stopped Justin Edwards and Paulo Thiago since he signed with the UFC.

It’s an interesting match-up between two, rising welterweights, that also could deliver some pretty compelling action.
