Nick Diaz’s highly anticipated, scrap with Anderson Silva is just over a month away, and the UFC is revving up the marketing machine for the January 31st bout.

Case in point, the promotion has posted Diaz’s October, 2011 fight with BJ Penn, which was a memorable one for several reasons. The bout is posted below.

Diaz went on to score an impressive, unanimous decision win over the legendary Penn, who at the time, wasn’t far removed from a draw with Jon Fitch. As a result of the victory, Diaz advanced to face Carlos Condit several months later for the interim welterweight belt, but lost by UD.

Penn, on the other hand, didn’t fight for over a year, and returned to face Rory MacDonald at UFC on FOX 5. Penn was badly outscored by MacDonald and lost by unanimous decision.

Silva-Diaz will headline UFC 183, which will be hosted by the MGM Grand Gardens Arena in Las Vegas.
