Since Urijah Faber continues to hang around the top of the UFC bantamweight ranks, there’s been persistent speculation as to whether he’d fight his teammate and buddy, champion TJ Dillashaw. Now that contenders Dominick Cruz and Raphael Assuncao have gone down with injuries, talk about the Team Alpa Male fighters scrapping might be more prevalent than ever.

Well, according to the bantamweight’s manager, Mike Roberts, don’t expect a Dillashaw-Faber fight anytime soon. Roberts recently spoke to MMA, and when asked about the potential, all-star bout, he stated:

“They’re brothers,” Roberts said. “I’ll never say never, but I would find that to be highly unlikely.”

Since Renan Barao got back on track at UFC Fight Night 58, one would think that the former champ will be tapped to rematch Dillashaw. Roberts relayed that the UFC hasn’t called about that fight yet, but he expects them to.

Dillashaw stopped Barao this past May, and ended the renowned fighter’s 33 fight, undefeated streak in the process. The two were booked to fight again at UFC 177 in August, but Barao fell ill while cutting weight and was forced to withdraw.

Dillashaw ended up facing Joe Soto at UFC 177, and knocked the bantamweight out in the fifth round.

Cruz was expected to fight Dillashaw next, but earlier this week he announced he’s incurred another ACL injury. Assuncao was also in the running,  but he broke his ankle in training and will also be sidelined for a while.

Faber, meanwhile, scored a submission win over Francisco Rivera earlier this month, and is 2-0 since he was stopped by Barao this past February.
