UFC President Dana White hasn’t been shy about the fact he wants to see Lyoto Machida throw down with Luke Rockhold, and the middleweight scrap has finally been booked.

The promotion has announced that Machida and Rockhold will fight on April 18th, at UFC on FOX 15. The card will be hosted by the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Machida (22-5) will be looking to build on his first round, demolition of CB Dollaway last month, after he was decisioned by champion Chris Weidman last July. The former light-heavyweight champ is 3-2 in his last five fights.

Rockhold (13-2), has won three in a row, and is coming off an impressive, submission victory over Michael Bisping in November. The former Strikeforce champ has gone 9-1 in his last ten bouts, and his only loss during that time came against Vitor Belfort.

So, this is pretty sweet news, considering the skill set and ranking position of both men. Machida is currently ranked #3 at 185 and Rochold is sitting at #5.
