Tyron Woodley handed Kelvin Gastelum his first pro defeat at UFC 183, and he did so apparently, with a broken foot…

Yes, Woodley’s split decision win over Gastelum may not have featured the fireworks people thought it would, and now we have a possible / good reason why. The welterweight contender has revealed he incurred the injury during the opening round of his bout with Gastelum, which was Saturday’s co-main event.

The victory was Woodley’s second in a row, as the powerful wrestler was coming off a first round, stoppage win over Dong Hyun Kim last August. Woodley is currently ranked #3 in the UFC’s welterweight division.

Gastelum, meanwhile, had his 10 fight winning streak snapped at the January 31st event. Now it remains to be seen if Gastelum will fight at welterweight again, since he was way, overweight for the bout. Gastelum has slipped three spots in the rankings and is now positioned at #10.

UFC 183 went down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
