The UFC’s first trip to the Philippines has its main event, and it’s a pretty, pretty, promising fight.

Yes, the promotion has announced that former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar will take on former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber at the May 16th event. The bout will be contested at 145.

Edgar (18-4-1) will be looking to extend his winning streak to four. The #1 ranked featherweight has scored wins over BJ Penn, Charles Oliveira and Cub Swanson, since he was decisioned by champ Jose Aldo.

Faber (32-7), on the other hand, is coming off victories over Alex Caceres and Francisco Rivera, after he was stopped by now former, bantamweight champ Renan Barao.

“The California Kid” hasn’t fought at 145 since 2010, when he was outgunned by Aldo at WEC 48 and lost via UD.

UFC FN 65 will go down at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.
