Kelvin Gastelum has been booked for his next fight, and just as UFC President Dana White said would be the case, the 23 year-old will be fighting at 185.

After Gastelum came in way, way over (nine pounds) for his January 31st bout with Tyron Woodley, the Arizona fighter was informed his next bout would be at middleweight. Although Gastelum still plans to make another run at welterweight, he has fought at 185 and done quite well. After all, he did win TUF 17 while fighting at that weight.

All this aside, the UFC has announced that Gastelum (10-1) will take on established vet, Nate Marquardt, June 13th. The middleweight fight will be part of UFC 188, which will take place in Mexico City.

Marquardt is looking to get back on track after he was decisioned by Brad Tavares in December, which was the 35 year-old’s fourth defeat in five fights.

Gastelum (10-1) ended up incurring his first pro defeat versus Woodley at UFC 183, as he lost the bout via split decision. Gastelum has gone 5-1 to date in official UFC action.

UFC 188 will feature a heavyweight fight between champion Cain Velasquez and interim champ Fabricio Werdum in the main event. The card will also see Gilbert Melendez take on fellow lightweight contender, Eddie Alvarez.
