If you recall, tonight’s UFC 187 card was also set to feature a lightweight title shot eliminator between Donald Cerrone and Khabib Nurmagomedov, but the latter re-injured his knee, and in stepped John Makdessi. While Cerrone-Makdessi has ‘fireworks’ written all over it, it’s too bad we won’t see whether Nurmagomedov’s title shot run will continue.

“The Eagle” has gone undefeated since joining the UFC, holds a win over reigning champ Rafael dos Anjos, and he’s been talking a ton of trash…So much so, it’s revealed in the latest “Embedded” for UFC 187 that Nurmagomedov’s father has told him to be a little bit more humble. While the grappling god acknowledged his father’s advice, Nurmagomedov apparently still believes he’s the planet’s best pound-for-pound fighter, now that Jon Jones is sidelined…How about that?

You can check out the lightweight’s interesting back-and-forth with Daniel Cormier below.

UFC 187 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
