The legend of Dan Henderson and his feared right hand gained another chapter tonight at UFC Fight Night 68, as the storied fighter scored a quick, stoppage win in the headliner.
Henderson’s right hand stunned Tim Boestch moments into the fight, and as the middleweight contender attempted to fight back, he was sent to the canvas by a pounding uppercut. From there, Henderson continued to throw down shots from above, and the fight was stopped at the 28 second mark.
So, clearly the 44 year-old fighter won’t be hanging up the gloves anytime soon.
In the co-main event, Matt Mitrione took on fellow heavyweight contender, Ben Rothwell. Mitrione showcased his impressive hand speed and footwork during the fight’s opening moments, before he decided to shoot in on Rothwell. The latter countered the shot, however, and then slapped on a beautifully timed choke, which brought about the tap-out.
After the fight, Rothwell gave an eye brow raising post-fight speech, where he announced none of the UFC’s heavyweights can defeat him.
