Not everyone is board with the idea that Miesha Tate should challenge bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey next, but the contender continues to campaign for another title shot.

It remains to be seen if the UFC will book Rousey-Tate III, but since the latter decisioned Jessica Eye last month, there’s been a ton of speculation it might.

Recently, Tate appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and when asked why believes she should face her rival again, “Cupcake” stated (quote via MMA

“For one thing, I’ve been beating everyone who could potentially deserve a shot,” Tate said. “So you can’t tell me that there’s a single girl out there who deserves it more than I do right now. I’m confident in saying that because I told everyone that I would work my way back to the title and I would earn that, and I have. I’ve done it, and if there’s someone else who people are questioning, who’s like, ‘hey, what about this girl? She might deserve it more.’ Then okay, I’ll take her out too.”

There are a lot of folks who agree with Tate, particularly her fans, as it’s true there aren’t a lot of options right now for the champ. Rousey has already defeated six of the top ten ranked 135’ers, including the #1 ranked Cat Zingano and the #3 ranked Alexis Davis. She already has two wins over the #2 ranked Tate.

But, this could come down to buzz, and whether a lot of fans welcome the idea of Rousey-Tate III. Amanda Nunes was stopped by Zingano just a couple of fights ago, but since she’s won two in a row and has moved into the #4 spot, maybe it will go to her?

Of course, if Cris “Cyborg” makes the drop to 135 sooner than expected, fights, and wins, the mega-fight with Rousey will happen. But, there’s been no indication that’s going to transpire in the coming weeks.
