Rising featherweights LC Davis and Deividas Taurosevicius will look to extend their winning streaks when they square off at “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz,” while lightweight Bendy Casimir debuts against Ricardo Lamas at the March 6 event in Columbus, Ohio. The WEC announced both matchups on Thursday.
Davis (15-2) bounced back from a March loss in Sengoku to Michihiro Omigawa with back-to-back WEC wins over Javier Vazquez in August and Diego Nunes in November, while Taurosevicius (12-3) rebounded from a May 2008 loss to Ryan Schultz with a split decision over Vazquez in his WEC debut in October before beating previously unbeaten Mackens Semerzier earlier this month.
Casimir (19-5-2), a French native who had been expected to debut in January, has won three-straight and 15 of his last 16 dating back to 2007, while Lamas (7-1) improved to 2-1 in the WEC with a November victory over James Krause.
WEC 47, which airs live on Versus from the Nationwide Arena, is headlined by bantamweight champion Brian Bowles vs. Dominick Cruz and also features Miguel Torres vs. Joseph Benavidez and Jens Pulver vs. Javier Vazquez.
