A day after Bellator confirmed it has signed Benson Henderson, the promotion has announced “Smooth’s” promotional debut: the former UFC lightweight champ is going to take on welterweight champ, Andrey Koreshkov.
Yes, Bellator has announced that the fight will headline the company’s 152nd card on April 23rd in Uncasville, Connecticut. As always, the main card will be broadcast on Spike.
Henderson (23-5) will be looking to extend his winning streak to three, as he has defeated Brandon Thatch and Jorge Masvidal in back-to-back fights.
Koreshkov (18-1) has won five straight, meanwhile, and this includes a decision win over now former champ Douglas Lima last July.
So there you go. That’s a nice way for Bellator to start promoting “Smooth”, no question.
