Yes, the UFC has announced that Anthony Pettis is fighting Edson Barboza next. If you’re not excited to hear that, well, then apparently bouts between guys with jaw dropping striking skills isn’t interesting.

The promotion has confirmed that the lightweight scrap will be part of UFC 197, which will go down on April 23rd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas.

Pettis (18-4) is coming off a hard fought, split decision loss to Eddie Alvarez, after losing the 155 title to Rafael dos Anjos last year.

Barboza (16-4) is looking to rebound from a submission loss he suffered to Tony Ferguson, in what was a ridiculously entertaining bout. Prior to that he earned a UD win over Paul Felder.

So, if you’re keeping score, this means UFC 197 will feature Daniel Cormier – Jon Jones II, Demetrious Johnson – Henry Cejudo, and Pettis – Barboza. Sound good?
