Miesha Tate was extremely impressed with how Holly Holm took out Ronda Rousey, but the contender doesn’t believe the new champ’s proven that she’s the best in the world at 135.

Holm dropped jaws and prompted a collective gasp in November, by knocking Rousey out in the second round. At the time, Rouse had gone undefeated in pro MMA, and was widely considered to be one of the most dominant fighters in combat sports.

Well, recently Tate spoke to MMA Junkie in advance of her bout this Saturday with Holm. Here is some of what “Cupcake” had to say about Holm’s win over Rousey and her abilities (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I was pretty surprised after the first round,” said Tate. “I was curious to see what adjustments would be made in the second round and there was no adjustments made on Rousey’s side,” said Tate. “They continued with the same gameplan and that led [Rousey] to her fate. Holly looked amazing. She proved that she’s one of the best strikers in the world but she’s yet to prove she’s one of the best MMA fighters in the world.”

Can Tate score the upset at UFC 196? And prove her point?

UFC 196 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
