Several preliminary card fights from “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber,” World Extreme Cagefighting’s pay-per-view debut on April 24, could air live on Versus, has learned.

According to a WEC official, the preliminary card broadcast is currently “under consideration” for WEC 48 and would be similar to the popular “UFC Prelims” series of its sister promotion.

“UFC Prelims,” a live broadcast of select preliminary bouts which airs live on Spike TV immediately before UFC pay-per-view events, debuted in September and recently drew a series-record 1.7 million viewers for UFC 109 last month.

WEC 48, which takes place at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California, is headlined by featherweight champion Jose Aldo vs. former title-holder Urijah Faber, and the five-fight PPV also features lightweight champ Ben Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone and Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan.

The current WEC 48 fight card includes:

  • Jose Aldo (c) vs. Urijah Faber
    WEC Featherweight Championship
