Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum are scheduled to meet yet again, as the UFC’s announced the former heavyweight champs will throw down on December 30th.

Velasquez (14-2) was submitted by Werdum last June with a third round, guillotine choke, and was booked for an immediate rematch this past February. But, Velasquez was forced to withdraw due to an injury, and Werdum ended up facing Stipe Miocic in May. The latter quickly ended Werdum’s reign as champ by knocking him out in the first round.

More recently, Velasquez stopped Travis Browne in the opening round at UFC 200, and Werdum decisioned Browne at UFC 203 in September.

The December 30th, UFC 207 card will take place in Las Vegas. The year-end card will be headlined by a fight between Ronda Rousey and bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes.
