Khabib Nurmagomedov has been campaigning for a bout with Tony Ferguson, big time, and now the undefeated lightweight has taken it up a notch…

Since it isn’t clear as to when the expecting father, Conor McGregor, will fight again, Nurmagomedov has been pushing hard for a bout with Ferguson. There’s been reports the UFC was hoping to book either an interim lightweight title fight, or a title shot eliminator between the two, but Ferguson’s apparently holding out for the same money as Nurmagomedov. In fact, recently Dana White had to this say about “El Cucuy’s” demands (quote via MMA Junkie):

“Khabib has a different deal; so that ain’t happening,” White said. “Count that one out. (Ferguson) had a contract that he just signed not long ago.”

“I honor every contract no matter what it is,” White added. “I get into some (expletive) deals too. You’ve got a guy who’s making tons of money, but he was a champion, and that was the deal I cut. I cut that deal and I signed it, and I’ve got to live my with deal, you know what I mean?”

As a result, the UFC offered Nurmagomedov a fight with Jose Aldo, but the vaunted grappler isn’t interested in fighting the featherweight champ, since he sees Ferguson as the only other viable contender. So what now? Well, recently Nurmagomedov made the following proposition via Twitter:

How about that? Now, obviously there’s no precedence in the UFC, in terms of having a fighter pay another fighter directly, so that a bout goes down. But, hopefully Nurmagomedov’s ongoing push for this fight help makes it happen.
