Not long after “Jacare” Souza’s manager drew up a fake Craigslist ad in an effort to secure his fighter a bout, it’s being reported that Tim Boetsch has stepped up.

Souza’s manager, Gilberto Faria, recently posted the fake ad on Instagram, and now Newsday is reporting the middleweight will fight Boestch on February 11th. The fight will be part of UFC 208, which will go down in Brooklyn, New York.

Boetsch (20-10) is coming off a first round, KO win over Rafael Natal in November, and has won two straight. “The Barbarian” is 2-3 in his last 5 contests.

Souza (23-4), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since last May when he stopped Vitor Belfort. “Jacare” is 4-1 in his last 5 bouts.

So there you have it. This is a big opportunity for Boetsch, who would almost certainly jump into the top ten if he can score an upset. Currently he’s ranked #13 at 185. Souza is #3.
