As expected, Daniel Cormier’s next title defense will indeed take place against Anthony Johnson, as the UFC’s announced the light-heavyweights will throw down on April 8th.

The fight will be main event for UFC 210, which will take place at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center.

Johnson and Cormier fought for the first time in May, 2015, not long after Jon Jones had been stripped of the light-heavyweight title. Cormier won the vacant belt by submitting “Rumble” in round three.

Since then, Johnson (18-1) has bombed out Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira. Cormier (18-1) has decisioned Alexander Gustafsson and Anderson Silva.

The fighters were scheduled to square off again at UFC 206 last month, but Cormier had to withdraw due to injury.
