If Cris “Cyborg” Justino lays claim to the featherweight title at UFC 214 later this month, the renowned fighter is open to facing former bantamweight champ, Holly Holm.

Justino was initially booked to fight Megan Anderson at the July 29th event, after Germaine de Randamie was stripped of the belt. But, Anderson had to withdraw from the card due to personal reasons, and now the Brazilian star will face Tony Evinger.

The bout will go down at a time when the UFC roster doesn’t currently include many women, featherweight fighters. So, it’s not clear yet, who the winner of Justino – Evinger will face next. So what about Holm? Who faced de Randamie earlier this year for the 145 title, and lost the bout via a controversial decision?

Well, “Cyborg” was asked about fighting Holm during a recent edition of “The MMA Hour”, and she had this to say (quote via MMA Mania):

“I had already accepted to fight Holly when Ronda fought Cat Zingano. I accepted to fight her in Curitiba at 140 (pounds). I accepted to fight her in Brasilia for the main event. I asked for her before she fight Bethe Correia, and then when Megan Anderson pulled out, I felt it was good opportunity to fight her. I think a fight with her will be great for all of the fans. She’s already fought at 145 with de Randamie, they say she lost, [but] she won. If this makes opportunity for her to fight with me I don’t know. She just won against Bethe Correia and I think she is the biggest name for the next fight and I think she is a great fighter. I think it will be really nice.”

Now, one would think the UFC will consider Holm, since he fought at featherweight earlier this year. Plus, recently Holm said she’s open to fighting at 145, but that she doesn’t want to repeatedly drop up-and-down weight classes. So it will be interesting to see what the UFC does here. Anderson, obviously, is another option for a title fight when she returns.
