Mike PierceWelterweight Mike Pierce will return to action at UFC 118, as he’s set to face 11-1 Nova Uniao product and UFC newcomer Amilcar Alves at the August 28 event in Boston, according to MMA News.

Pierce (11-3) had his six-fightt win streak snapped in a December loss to 170-pound contender Jon Fitch, but bounced back in March with a unanimous decision over Julio Paulio.

Alves (11-1), who trains alongside WEC featherweight champ Jose Aldo, Wagnney Fabiano, and Thales Leites at Nova Uniao, is currently riding an eight-fight win streak that includes four-straight first-round stoppage victories.

UFC 118 is headlined by a rematch between lightweight champ Frankie Edgar and former title-holder BJ Penn, and also features a matchup between lightweight contenders Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard as well as Randy Couture vs. James Toney.
