There’s been no shortage of speculation lately as to whether Conor McGregor will box again, but according to Jose Aldo’s coach, the former champ plans to head in that direction.
Aldo has expressed his interest in boxing before, and he’s also not long removed from a rift with the UFC, where he requested his release. Well, more recently, Aldo’s coach Andre Pederneiras told MMA Fighting the following:
“He’s training boxing because he has this dream of competing in professional boxing,” Pederneiras said. “If it was up to him, he’d fight all of his UFC fights (left on the contract) in three months and go box. He wants to box professionally.”
This is interesting to hear. No question. The Nova Uniao leader also mentioned that they’re looking at Cub Swanson as Aldo’s next, potential opponent. The Brazilian star is coming off a stoppage loss to Max Holloway in June.
