The Floyd Mayweather – Conor McGregor bout drew plenty of criticism when it was announced, but as everyone predicted, that didn’t stop it from being absolutely massive.

In a new video that’s gone up on Instagram, UFC President Dana White reports that last Saturday’s fight sold 6.5 million pay-per-view buys. If that figure’s on point, that would make the fight the top selling, PPV scrap of all time. The previous record was held by the 20-15, Mayweather – Manny Pacquiao bout, which is believed to have sold around 5.5 million PPVs, internationally.

Mayweather won the August 26th contest by prompting the ref’s intervention in round ten, after he hit McGregor with repeated punches to the head.
