Back in 2011, chances are not too many people were predicting David Branch would be headlining a UFC card in 2017, but here we are.

Branch will take on Luke Rockhold tonight at UFC Fight Night 116, in what will serve as the Pittsburgh card’s main event. The BJJ black belt has been tapped for the opportunity, thanks to a 13-1 run he went on, after Branch was submitted by Rousimar Palhares in 2011, and exited the UFC.

That run, also saw Branch win the middleweight and light-heavyweight belts with WSOF, and score a split decision win over Krzysztof Jotko, which you can watch below.
