Francis Ngannou hasn’t locked up a bout with Stipe Miocic yet, but recently the rising fighter made a bold prediction on how a bout with the heavyweight champ would play out.

The heavy handed heavyweight has been busy campaigning for his next fight, after a scheduled bout with Junior dos Santos for September,  fell through (dos Santos was pulled from the match-up due to a USADA flag). Since Miocic has really defeated top contenders like Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum, and because Cain Velasquez is recovering from a back injury, there’s been no shortage of talk about Ngannou challenging for the belt.

Speaking of this, Ngannou recently told ESPN that he wants to fight Miocic next, and the “Predator” also had this to say:

“I already know everything they’re able to do,” Ngannou said, while referring to possible opponents like Miocic or Overeem. “Everyone knows all of their skills. They don’t know mine. They’re still discovering mine. I’m bringing a surprise in every fight. I’ve never had the opportunity to show my whole game yet.

“I knock Stipe out when we fight. I think under three rounds, I knock him out.”

That’s quite the prediction no? And it will be interesting to see whether it gets back to Miocic, and what his thoughts are…

Ngannou has repeatedly demonstrated during his UFC run that he’s a ridiculously dangerous man, but, you could say the same thing about Miocic. It would also be interesting to see how Ngannou does against an athletic heavyweight, who has heavy hands, good boxing and can wrestle like Miocic.

Ngannou also reported that the UFC has talked to him about fighting either Miocic or Overeem in December. One would think that if the UFC can come to terms with Miocic, then they might very well tap Ngannou for a title shot before the year is out.  Miocic hasn’t fought now since May, and the UFC’s year end schedule could use a big bout, like a heavyweight championship fight.
