Kamaru Usman has relayed he wants to throw hands with Rafael dos Anjos next, but it sounds like the former lightweight champ’s not interested.

Following Usman’s impressive, KO win over Sergio Moraes last month, the rising welterweight has called for a bout with dos Anjos. But, when dos Anjos was asked to respond to Usman on the latest “MMA Hour”, the talented fighter said this (quote via MMA Fighting):

“I just beat the No. 6 in the division and I’m currently at No. 5; it doesn’t make any sense to fight the No. 10,” dos Anjos said, while referring to his quick submission win over Neil Magny in September. “I understand that everyone is trying to promote themselves to get interesting fights, but I’m worried about fighters who are ahead of me.”

It’s not too surprising to hear RDA say this, although, one could argue that defeating Usman would also provide a pretty sizeable push. After all, Usman has gone 6-0 to date in the UFC. But, RDA also relayed that he thinks he should be tapped for a title fight with Tyron Woodley next. Will that happen though? Hard to say.
