The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to book all-star bouts for its December schedule, as the promotion’s announced that Frankie Edgar will challenge featherweight champ Max Holloway at UFC 218.

The card will go down on December 2nd at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Since Edgar (22-5-1) stopped rising contender Yair Rodriguez in May, the consensus has been that the former lightweight champ would be next for Holloway. Prior to facing Rodriguez, Edgar earned a decision win over Jeremy Stephens.

Holloway (18-3) continued to roll in June, as the Hawaiian star stopped Jose Aldo to unify the 145 belts, and in the process, he extended his winning streak to 11.

Can Edgar end Holloway’s ridiculously impressive run? And secure another UFC belt? If he can, it would kick Edgar’s legacy up into a new stratosphere, that’s for sure.
