Demetrious Johnson made history tonight at UFC 216, by cruising through Ray Borg to retain the flyweight belt for the 11th time, and setting a new record for title defenses.

Johnson dominated Borg from the opening horn, but the rising contender continued to battle and hung in tough. In round five, however, Johnson dropped into a highlight reel, armbar, which forced Borg to tap. Heading into tonight’s card, Johnson was tied with former middleweight champ, Anderson Silva, for title defenses (10).

In the main event, Tony Ferguson rebounded from a tough opening round against Kevin Lee, and went on to win the interim lightweight title.

Lee took Ferguson down in the opening frame, and after moving into mount, poured down strikes from above. Ferguson made it through the round, however, and began to out strike Lee on the feet.

In round three, Lee stepped up his takedown attempts, but found himself ensnared in a fight ending, triangle-choke. After the championship win, Ferguson proceeded to call out reigning champ, Conor McGregor.
