Andrei Arlovski’s future in the UFC, and even in MMA, was up in the air as UFC Fight Night 120 approached. But, following the “The Pitbull’s” win on Saturday, Arlovski’s already talking about his next bout.
Leading up to Saturday’s fight with Junior Albini, Arlovski had lost five straight, and if he had lost, the 38 year-old would have likely been looking for a new employer. But, following his clear cut, decision win over Albini, the former heavyweight champ had this to say (quote via MMA Junkie):
“Finally my hard work pays off and for the first time in a long, long time I stick to my game plan,” Arlovski said. “It was not 100 percent, but 95 percent. I kept my hands up. Coach told me, ‘Don’t clinch,’ but I clinched a couple times. I’m very happy now.”
Yup, That elation is pretty understandable. Arlovski also relayed that he thinks he’ll be ready to fight again, in February or March. It will be interesting to see who is next for the decorated fighter. Arlovski was ranked #13 prior to Saturday’s event.
